Happy Easter!

We had a great Easter! We got up and Elliot hunted for Easter eggs. Daddy and I (I mean the Easter bunny) hid eggs, and Elliot found the 12 regular eggs and 3 Elmo eggs filled with Gerber puffs, yogurt melts, and diced dried apples. When we were laying in bed last night, Dave and I agreed that watching her hunt for eggs and the excitement she had was the highlight of our day. We then got dressed in our finest - Elliot looked BEAUTIFUL in her Easter dress (I didn't get any pics - bad Mom! Aunt Vik - we need pics!) When we left church, we stopped by the school's flower sale and picked up an Easter Lily for Grandma J. We headed home and made bread and a peach/cherry tart for Grandma's house. A few hours later (and no nap...) we headed to Dave's parents for dinner with the entire extended family. We got to meet baby Emma, only 8 days old. Elliot was not on her best behavior for the first couple of hours, but then again Stephen made her look quite agreeable. Two too tired babies can be hard! We had a nice time at the Jak's, then came home and crashed! What a great day!

(On a side note, I just wanted to write to myself that I stopped nursing Elliot on March 27. It was a very hard several weeks for Elle and I, she seems to be hating on me less now. I just wanted to remind myself when I stopped. I chose to stop now, because I knew I wanted to stop sometime soon, but was having a difficult time with the idea. Elliot got a cold and couldn't nurse for four days. I thought nature would take over and I was wrong - I still have milk should I choose to start up again, but we're done. My baby isn't a baby any longer.)

I'm getting behind!

Friday, April 3:
We were supposed to fly to Ohio since this was the start of our spring break. We were very excited to go and see Nana, PopPop, Uncle Jamey ("Umple Zimmy"), Aunt Connie, Jed and Molly! We also had a wedding shower on Saturday afternoon that Mommy wanted to go to for Cousin Allison. We left for the airport at 4 for our 6:05 flight. We checked in, went through security and sat and waited. As we waited, we saw a fog roll in. Planes were not able to land, and had to be rerouted to other airports to refuel. After a couple of hours, planes started to land again. Our connecting flight was at 7:40 in Baltimore. We finally realized we had missed our connection, and when Dave went to ask what we could do, he was told we could have a flight out of Baltimore on Monday night at 7. Seeing as we were returning Tuesday, we went home. Mommy was so upset and frustrated, that despite Daddy's suggestions, we returned home and decided NOT to go to Ohio after all.

Saturday, April 4:
Elliot woke up at 7, so Mommy got up with her. At 7:20, Mommy decided we would go after all. The bags were already packed, so we woke up Daddy and hopped in the car. We arrived in Marietta at 4:45 - just in time for the 5:00 shower!

Thursday, April 9:
Happy birthday, Aunt Vikki! It was such a nice day, we decided to run a bunch of errands and go to the Holtsville Ecology Site. While we were in Jennifer Convertibles (looking for a new couch and chair), the phone rang. It was Aunt Vikki. "Happy Vikki!" (That's Elle's way of telling you 'happy birthday.') She said Fuzz had food poisoning :( and she wanted to know if Mommy wanted his ticket to see Wicked. Yay! So off we went to finish up our errands (including a trip to BJ's to get the Magic Bullet that we gave Aunt Vikki for her birthday with the GIANT rubber duck!). We had a great time at the Ecology Site - Elle loved the rabbits and llamas and donkeys the most, I think. Mommy left at 4 to head to Vikki's to catch the train to the city. Elliot went down for a nap at 5:45 for Daddy and didn't get up until 8:30 the next morning!!!!!! Mommy and Vikki had a great time at the show - be sure to catch it if you're ever in town or if it comes to your town!

Friday, April 10:
Our biggest news yet! Elliot said to Daddy, "I want to poop, Daddy!" We sat her on her potty and she made a little poopy in it! Yay! (Ew, right? I know, but this is big news!) She cried the whole time, but we sat with her and cheered and encouraged. Then we heard a tiny thud and knew there was success! We called Nana and PopPop (on their way to Mississippi to visit Uncle Phil "Umple Awful") and Grandma and Grandpa to tell them the big news. Elliot got a bar-bar (nutrigrain bar) for special treat!
